Prof Alidu Mustapha Sanatu is a lecturer with University for Development Studies, Tamale-Ghana, with 25 years of teaching, research, and community outreach. She has supervised and mentored several postgraduate and undergraduate students.  Her passion to impact lives, have led to the establishment of a seed and inputs company in Northern Ghana, known as DINMBONE Farm Gates company Ltd . The company is the only woman-led seed production and input supply enterprise in Ghana’s Northern Region and provides farmer-centered bundles of agricultural services to a network of over 5,000 smallholder out-growers for increased productivity and income. The smallholder farmers are made up of 80% women and youth, 15% men and 5% persons with disabilities. She also has commercial farms are in Mion, and Karaga Districts whereas the women smallholder farmers are in 10 Districts and 50 communities

Prof. Sanatu cultivates 200-500 acres of seeds  of cereal and legume crops (maize, rice, soya beans, groundnut, cowpea, sorghum) and provides quality seed, fertilizer, crop protection services, as well as providing our valued partners with technical support and training on best farming practices, safe handling and use of agrochemicals through the company. Through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships, the business she is operating ensures that farmers have access to improved seeds and is reshaping women’s role in agribusiness in the region.  She is a cowpea breeder and recently developed six new climate-smart, drought-tolerant cowpea varieties

For 3 years now she has partnered with MEDA GROW 2 to supply input technology bundles to women small holder farmers in 8 Districts in Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions and the Savanna Regions of Ghana.
