Prof. Eric Osei-Assibey

Prof. Eric Osei-Assibey is the Chief Economist and Vice President (Economic Research) at the Development Bank Ghana and an Associate Professor of Economics. He brings over 20 years of experience in economic advisory, research, and policy engagement across financial inclusion, banking, macroeconomic management, and private-sector development. He has advised institutions, including the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Ghana, and Ghana Statistical Service, as well as development partners such as the World Bank, UN agencies, GIZ, and IFPRI, and has worked across Africa on investment and development programmes. Prof. Osei-Assibey combines rigorous evidence-based analysis with practical experience in mobilising finance, managing risk, and measuring impact—supporting bankable investments in strategic sectors, including health and manufacturing. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from Nagoya University, Japan and is a Post-Doctorate Scholar at the Brown International Advanced Research Institutes (BIARI) at Brown University, USA.
