Mrs. Hajia Alima Sagito-Saeed, is a beacon of inspiration and a true advocate for progress. With a distinguished career spanning close to two decades in the field of development, Hajia Alima has consistently demonstrated her passion for transforming lives and communities. As the Executive Director of the Savannah Women Integrated Development Agency (SWIDA), an organization focused on the empowerment of women and girls in Northern Ghana, she has been at the forefront of initiatives that uplift and elevate those who are often marginalized. Hajia Alima has extensive experience includes collaborations with renowned international and local partners such as the World Food Programme, Global Fund for Women, Africa Women Development Fund, FAO, USAID and Partners, World Vision Ghana, Conginta/EU, Global Affairs Canada, Plan International Ghana, Global Shea Alliance among others.Her dedication to empowering women and girls across various sectors has left an indelible mark on countless lives. Holding an MSc in Rural Development from the University of London and a BA in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Hajia Alima’s academic achievements are paralleled only by her hands-on contributions to real-world transformation. Hajia Alima Sagito is an advocate of women and girls’ rights and empowerment working with over 300 groups of women in forest and farm value chains for sustainable livelihoods supporting them to increase their agency in social, economic and political decision-making powers. Hajia has consultated for a number of organisations including, USAID Advancing Nutrition, CIDA now Global Affairs Canada on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), COGNITA/EU on Peace and SGBV, World Vision International on Women Economic Empowerment and WASH, WFP on VLSA and Women’s Livelihood Empowerment, USAID/AfricaLead on Women, Food Security and Financial Inclusion and recently a Leading4Change Trainer for USAID/Policy Link.
